“If you don't go forwards, you go backwards!” There is some truth in this old saying. Even a high-quality product needs to be developed further in order to meet the growing requirements and satisfy new demands. Of course, this also applies to the handling of our products. Use and operation should be as simple and easy as possible, but without any sacrifices regarding the high quality that is the customary hallmark of Carl Stahl Kromer products.
Therefore, we are pleased to inform you about a change in the tensioning device of the 7228 model. Its primary goal is the prevention of maloperation (user errors) when tensioning or releasing the spring. Now, spring load setting is no longer done via a shaft and a spring eye that was previously located on the rear side of the balancer. Instead, you just insert an Allen wrench on the front side of the balancer and rotate it in the “+” (plus) or “-” (minus) direction, as appropriate. The spring eye has been eliminated altogether because it is no longer needed. Some users will already know this new way of load setting from the “Air” (air hose) balancer 7223 (which served as an example indeed). Apart from easier operation, the daily use of the balancer is facilitated as well, as spring eye-related troubles (cables getting caught) are automatically prevented.
